WHY CONNECT COUNSELLING?

The therapeutic relationship is the foundation to our work. I understand sharing your feelings and thoughts may be daunting, so I aim to make you feel comfortable and safe based on a warm, trusting therapeutic connection.  

My role is not to give advice or tell you what to do as I believe you hold the answers yourself. I work alongside you as we explore, what you wish, to help you gain insight and understanding which may help you to move forward and make the changes you are seeking. Working primarily with a person-centred approach, each session you choose what you wish us to explore. Blending a psychodynamic approach means we may explore how events from your past may remain in your unconscious and cause difficulties for you in the present.

I adapt my approach to work at your pace and meet your individual needs as we work towards your goal.

Is Online Counselling For You?

 

  • It can be less time consuming due to no travel.

  • Sessions online maybe easier to fit into your day.

  • Online sessions can still continue, if you wish, if you  move house, work away or go on holiday.

  • You may feel more able to share online if you find being face to face uncomfortable.

  • Good internet access is required.

  • You will need a comfortable, private space where you won't be interrupted.

  • It can be helpful to designate a little time after your session to feel present before continuing with your day.
